The secret emotional Life of an Inside-Out Parent: Selfless Self-Care made Effortless

After talking to a wise friend about self-care, I wanted to share some new fresh thoughts about self-care and how much it has changed over the years for me.
I used to crave the time alone when the kids are in bed and I can curl up in bed and read my book, as this was the best self-care that has been with me since I fell in love with reading Heidi in German at the age of nine.
And as much I still love reading and do it as much as possible, I have realized that we don't have to do something or plan something to have self-care.
As I find that this can again put pressure on us to make time for self-care and then when we don't find the time or we can't get support from people around us, self-care becomes another source of frustration.
So how did I make self-care effortless and selfless?
I would like to propose to you to take care of your inner emotional life, and notice the repetitive thinking that keeps playing on your mind and is distracting you from being here and right now with yourself.
When we can just start living more in the present moment by dropping repetitive thinking that keeps us away from our own inner wisdom and creativity that we have all been blessed with, we suddenly have a lot more time for ourselves, without anyone around us even having to know about it.
Not only that but when an opportunity arrives to have a bit of quiet time, we can enjoy it too as our mind is present and free from all the emotional burdens that we tend to carry around with us.
This is my daily self-care now, every time I have repetitive thinking that is robbing me from living in the present moment I expose myself to the deep truth about life that helps me to get grounded again effortlessly and selflessly.
